This course is designed for students who have no experience playing the guitar. Students will be introduced to the anatomy of the guitar, how to hold and tune the instrument, will play notes written for simple songs, and practice strumming techniques to accompany simple gospel songs. Students will also address the fundamentals of music theory.

This class provides a systematic study of Latin Grammar. Latin provides a solid foundation in the study of all languages, increases vocabulary for testing purposes, and is a wonderful jump start for any student planning to study in any medical field. Students with learn in a fun and energized format 1st & 2nd Conjugation, Declension, Tense, & Case.

This elective course presents basic structure and grammar of the Spanish language and encourages conversation with the introduction of basic vocabulary. Concepts such as the calendar, seasons, classroom objects and school subjects, commands, numbers, colors, pronouns, introduction of conjugation, greetings, and a basic understanding of Spanish-speaking cultures will be taught. This class will provide a good foundation to students who will be taking Spanish 1.

Teaches American Sign Language to children with more than 300 essential signs, their English equivalents, and a picture translation.

Students will learn basic elements of writing such as writing basic sentences, writing paragraphs, and writing essays. Grammar will be enriched through sentence combining, modeling and editing. Students will have a chance to enhance writing knowledge through subject writing, creative writing and reports.

Students will review basic writing skills using a literature approach, in addition to traditional writing exercises. Topics covered will include: expository, narrative, and persuasive writing; research papers, including citation of sources; and poetry. Several classic short stories, poems, and novels will be studied.

Explains whole numbers, number theory, equations, decimals, integers, fractions, basic geometry.

Eases students into algebraic thinking by introducing the concept of variables early, then emphasizing equation-solving procedures throughout the remaining chapters. Reviews and builds on traditional arithmetic skills and includes a consumer- related application of math to everyday life.

Exploring Creation with Zoology 2: Swimming Creatures presents a scientifically sound and God-honoring study of Zoology 2 for grades K-6. God filled the Earth’s waters with animals great and small. Exploring Creation with Zoology 2: Swimming Creatures of the Fifth Day covers swimming creatures from the microscopic to the massive. No matter how near or far you live from the ocean, you and your students will wonder at God’s designs in the amazing aquatic animals He formed.

Topics covered include organism, classification, cellular biology, genetics, creation vs. evolution, microbiology, botany, zoology, ecology, and human anatomy. A science project is required.

This course tells the story of Georgia—its history, culture, and geography—in the context of the American nation, and its state and local government in the context of American democracy.
